Yu Yongjun, member of the CPC Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Counsellors' Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality (hereinafter referred to as the Counsellors' Office), visited the Zhongguancun Global High-level Think Tank Alliance (hereinafter referred to as ZGCTA) on the morning of July 10th to conduct research and discussions on the development of ZGCTA. Li Junkai, ZGCTA Secretary-General and Director of the International and Regional Cooperation Center of the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as BJAST), presided over the discussion and briefed Yu and his delegation on ZGCTA's progress. Wu Jianmin, President of BJAST, met with Yu Yongjun following the discussion.
Wu Jianmin briefly introduced the profile of ZGCTA and the development of BJAST, noting that ZGCTA, established based on the ZGC Forum, is an important platform for promoting exchange, mutual learning, and collaborative cooperation among domestic and international think tanks. ZGCTA is willing to collaborate with the Counsellors' Office in decision-making consultation and research, jointly contributing to the development of Beijing as an international science and technology innovation center.
Yu Yongjun provided an overview of the history of the Counsellors' Office, pointing out that the Counsellors' Office, directly affiliated to the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, assumes critical responsibilities of advising the municipal government and actively participates in consultations to major governmental decisions as well as the revision of significant municipal regulations. It functions to form a united front and provide insights. He hopes to take this exchange as an opportunity to further strengthen ties and deepen cooperation with ZGCTA, jointly exploring new paths for think-tank development and international exchange and cooperation.
Li Junkai presented a detailed account of ZGCTA's history. Thanks to its sustained development in recent years, ZGCTA has made progress in promoting exchange and cooperation between domestic and international think tanks in spite of numerous challenges in a complex and volatile international landscape. She expressed the hope to establish closer cooperative relations with the Counsellors' Office, joining hands to explore cooperative models in line with the characteristics of a new era. Resource sharing and complementation of strengths will enable multi-faceted collaboration in decision-making consultation and think-tank development.
The delegation from the Counsellors' Office, including Sun Hui, Director of the Personnel Department, together with Geng Nan, Deputy Director of the International and Regional Cooperation Center of BJAST, as well as key members from the Platform Management Department/ZGCTA Secretariat Office participated in the discussion.
